Growth and Expansion to Meet Customers’ Needs
With the expansion of their tomato product lines, it was critical for Red Gold to control their transportation needs. In 1980, Red Gold purchased its own private fleet with the acquisition of Fettig Transportation. Starting with just 5 trucks and 15 trailers, the fleet began to grow. In 1990, Fettig Transportation was renamed RG Transport, which now operates more than 150 trucks and 350 trailers. In 1998, RG Transport became more than a “private fleet” for Red Gold by offering its assets to other food distribution companies. RG Transport has grown to a large common carrier servicing national food and consumer products companies.

RGT Logistics was created by combining the truckload brokerage operations of RG Transport and the Intermodal and Rail expertise at Red Gold and folding them under one umbrella to form an asset-based logistics provider with an operating and service charter to provide unsurpassed logistics services to food and other consumer good shippers.
