From driver Pat Walters

“RG Transport is a company where you are more than just an employed truck driver. They really take time to get to know you, and make you feel like you're part of an organization. I've been with RG for just over a year, and not only have I found a workplace where management is open, honest, and fair, and works with you so you can reach your goals, but have also found a new set of friends.”

Our Drivers

Bragging on “our drivers”

December 1, 2016-
RG Transport drivers generously create and donate to the Elwood Community Youth Outreach Program. The program helps pay for school supplies, lunch programs as well as special need programs for the local school. This program is a much needed and welcomed program and ensures those who might go without are taken care of thanks to the generosity of our employees.

September 1, 2006 – Driver Ken Roberts receives recognition for initiating a charity campaign for the Indiana Riley Hospital for Children. Ken's goal, with the assistance of Controller Sandy McWatters, is for RG Transport to collect employee donations and become an official sponsor of the 2007 Miracle Ride. Over 45,000 motorcyclists plan to participate in the May event.

December 1, 2005 – On the evening of December 1st , as I was leaving for the day I did not know there was black ice until my feet went sliding and I could not recover my balance. I fell and could not get up. As I sat there for what seemed like a very long time (in actuality it was only about 15 minutes), the one liner from an old commercial came to mind – "I've fallen and cannot get up".

Eventually, a RG Transport truck driver stopped and came over to help me. I was just so grateful to be standing and having help to get me to my car that all I could say was thank you. He then said "I just hope someone will be around to help me when I get old...older". We both laughed and continued on our way to my car. That made two thoughts of my being "old". Was God trying to tell me something?

In the process, I neglected to get his name. However, I will ever be grateful to this man for his assistance. Don't believe it when someone says that men are no longer gallant. This man was certainly very courteous and helpful to me and deserves an award in my book.

All I can say is THANK YOU a million times over and may God Bless you for your kindness.

(Note: The person that wrote this note is a Red Gold associate. The RG Transport driver that came to her rescue was Dave Ferrel. Thank you and good job, Dave!)

April 26, 2005 – Driver Charlie Gurlin was recognized by an appreciative little lady when he stopped to help her, and a companion, change a flat tire. The stranded couple was en route to their 60th High School Reunion. Charlie helped by changing their tire and directing them to the nearest tire store for a safety inspection on all tires.

May 13, 2005 – Driver Gary Cole witnessed a Pegasus Transportation driver collapse near his tractor in Kokomo, IN. Gary went to the ailing driver’s aid and called for an ambulance. He also called the RG Transport office and asked for assistance in contacting Pegasus. Pegasus’s safety department called Gary back on his cell phone and asked him to secure their tractor. The emergency technicians felt the driver suffered a stroke.

June 4, 2005 – Driver John Thibeault achieved the Third Place Award in the Tanker Class of the 2005 Indiana Motor Truck Driving Championships held in Indianapolis, IN. John represented the company very well by tallying a score of 364 points in the two-day competition event.

RG Transport’s professional drivers average more than 4 years of service.
